Dear RCS Families,
As we turn the page to a new year, I'm filled with gratitude for the dedication and resilience of our RCS community. The past several months have been a journey of connection, collaboration, and careful planning, and I'm excited about the momentum we're building together.
Since joining RCS, I've had the privilege of working alongside exceptional staff, engaged families, and supportive community members who share a common commitment: ensuring every student in our district has access to excellent education. We've been laying important groundwork: strengthening communication systems, refining operational procedures, and building relationships across our four schools that honor each building's unique identity while advancing our collective mission.
As we enter 2026, several key initiatives reflect our commitment to meaningful change:
Creating a Solid Foundation for Instructional Technologies: Building robust systems and support that empower both teachers and students to leverage technology effectively in the classroom.
Policy Modernization: Updating frameworks to meet contemporary needs while maintaining our core values.
Operational Excellence: Strengthening procedures from transportation to facilities management to ensure consistency and safety.
Community Partnerships: Deepening connections with families, local organizations, and stakeholders who enrich our students' experiences.
The new year offers us permission to reflect, recalibrate, and recommit. For our students, it's a fresh start to pursue goals and discover new strengths. For our families, it's a chance to deepen engagement with their children's education. For our staff, it's an opportunity to embrace professional growth and innovation.
Renewal doesn't mean abandoning what works; it means building on our strengths while remaining open to improvement. It means honoring RCS traditions while preparing students for an evolving world.
As I often say, we're building this puzzle piece by piece. Each student, staff member, family, and community partner contributes something essential to the complete picture. In 2026, our focus remains clear: providing the high-quality education our students deserve while fostering a culture of respect, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Thank you for your partnership in this important work. Together, we're not just marking time; we're making history.
With gratitude,
Craig P. Chandler
