Important Dates & Reminders

We are reminding families about some important district dates and transportation events that are coming up in the month of March. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s main office.

Early Dismissal and Closures

 

Thursday, March 5: Early Dismissal PK-12 (Staff Development Half Day)

Elementary Schools:  

  • Students will eat lunch prior to dismissal. 
  • Parent pick-up will begin at 12:20 p.m., and students who take the bus will be dismissed following parent pick-up.
  • Buses depart at 12:30 p.m.
  • Parents/guardians should be prepared for their students to be home 3 hours earlier.

Middle and High School: Students will be dismissed at 11:06 a.m. and will eat lunch prior to dismissal. All student are expected to leave campus and return for their later scheduled events; they cannot remain at school. 

 

Information about scheduling a Parent-Teacher Conference will be shared by your student’s school before these dates.

Please contact transportation@rcscsd.org if you haven’t received an email invitation to register for Stopfinder, or if you have any questions regarding your student’s schedule.

Charting Your Course: 8th Grade Transition Event

RCS High School Counselors welcome 8th-grade families and students to Charting Your Course, a transition event where you will learn about opportunities in the High School. Topics will include graduation requirements, academic offerings, CTE, opportunities to earn college credits, clubs & activities, academic & social-emotional supports, and more!

6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
High School Career Cafe

Learn more about this event and the transition to High School by contacting the High School Counselors. *This date has been changed from the District’s printed calendar.

 

Hadestown: Teen Edition

The RCS High School Drama Club returns to the stage in March 2026 with live performances of the hit musical Hadestown: Teen Edition. The cast and crew have been working overtime to put together this spectacular show. Come out and see the incredible performances!

The performances will take place in the RCS High School Auditorium:

Friday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m. (ASL Interpreted Performance)

The house opens 45 minutes prior to the beginning of the show.

Board of Education Meeting & Budget Workshop

The RCS Board of Education will hold a meeting and a Budget Workshop on Wednesday, March 11, in person in the High School Library. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m., with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. for those attending in person.

The meeting agenda will be available on BoardDocs. Additional public access to the meeting will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. via live stream. Please note that the live stream link will only be active during the meeting. Within 1–2 days following the meeting, a recording will be available on the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District YouTube Channel

Upcoming Concerts

In March, RCS celebrates Music in Our Schools Month! Our Music Department will showcase our talented student musicians throughout the month. All performances are open to the RCS community, held at the High School, and begin at 7 p.m.

The *concert dates are as follows:

Thursday, March 12: 6th-12th Grade Instrumental Concert

Thursday, March 19: AWB 5th Grade Band and Chorus

Tuesday, March 24: PBC 5th Grade Band and Chorus

Thursday, March 26: 6th-12th Grade Vocal Concert

*Winter weather can sometimes extend into spring. Snow dates for concerts are listed on the District Calendar. If a date change becomes necessary, families will be notified.

 

Board of Education: Budget Workshop

Academic Dates

Friday, March 6: End of 5 wk. Interim Period (MS/HS)

RCS moved to digital report cards and progress reports for our middle and high school students beginning this 2025-26 school year. Information on your student's progress is available in the SchoolTool Parent Portal. If you need a physical copy of your student's report card or progress report, please contact their school’s counseling department.

Friday, March 13: End of Second Trimester

SchoolTool is the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District student information management system, allowing students, families, and staff to access information on attendance, assignments, and more.

Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten Enrollment Period Begins

The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District is pleased to announce that registration for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year is about to begin!

The official enrollment period runs from February 6 through March 27, 2026. During this time, families should visit the District website to review registration instructions, complete all required forms, and submit the necessary documentation to the District Registrar. Registering within this official window is strongly encouraged.
